Florence is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world. At least once in a life time, you’d take a close look at the David of Michelangelo, or the Venere of Botticelli, or visit the Uffizi Gallery, the Pitti Palace, the Boboli Gardens and the Brunelleschi’s Dome. As a matter of fact, there are no other places in the world that have such a huge concentration of monuments and masterpieces in a small space.
Firenze is famous not only for its culture and art but also for its traditional food and Tuscan wine. The vast majority of dishes are based on meat. The most famous courses are the bistecca alla fiorentina, a huge steak of Chianina beef cooked over hot charcoal and served very rare, and its more recently derived version, the tagliata, sliced rare beef served on a bed of rucola salad, often with slices of parmesan cheese on top.
